Dunlin Day. Fly Flatts

                                           1 of 7 Dunlin

                                                               Dunlin in flight
                                                 1 of 12 Common Sandpiper
                                                                 Dunlin

0645 hrs trying to beat the nasty hot stuff but failing as already the sun was high and temperatures rising quickly with no cooling breeze today, just a slight W>2 and 100% blue sky.
The shoreline was alive with Common Sandpipers and Dunlin along with noisy Redshank keeping their distance. At least 3 very young Common Sandpipers were spotted briefly before they went to ground under stones after hearing the adult bird alarm call.
Just the usual geese on the water whilst 4 Herring gulls circled very high overhead.

7 Dunlin
12 Common Sandpipers
4 Redshank
4 Herring gulls
8 Curlew
+ usual sp.
