Halifax Waxwings and Soil Hill

Fieldfare getting in on the act,.

Lucky for me we were going to Asda ,Halifax this afternoon so Lynda found it strange when I appeared loaded with the camera.
A slight detour to Long Lover Lane after DJS reported on the grapevine that he had discovered c 60 Waxwings around the area but very mobile.
Waxwings are usually one of the easiest birds to photograph but not these, sticking to the top of a very high tree and coming down in the churchyard trees to feed which were thick with branches and in the shade of the church but nice to see so many together.
A last light trip to Soil Hill for the usual check produced very little with 3 Mistle Thrushes in the tree line, 14 Fieldfare in the stone circle field and strangely a Great Tit in the bush near the aerial, an unusual sp for up there.
