The winter Solstice sun going down.
The usual habitual walk around Soil Hill last light in a howling WNW> 6 but an improvement from the rain earlier in the day.
The male Reed Bunting was activity flitting around the east summit keeping low out of the wind and visiting the Nyjer seed areas several times. If its good enough for Reed its good enough for Lap, Snow and Shorelark.
Otherwise things were much of a muchness with 3 Meadow Pipits, 2 Woodpigeon, 11 Fieldfare and 1 Kestrel.
At last we,ve reached the shortest day so as they say in Queensbury, " We,re off tuther road nah ", so we can hopefully see the light slowly improving morning and night . Bet it was a bit grim for the Solstice sun worshippers top of the Nab at the sacrifice stones this evening, at least the sun showed for them.
