Trees full of Brambling
Poor pics in conditions, distance and way up in
the tops of the trees so silhouetted.
Bullfinch getting in on the act
A late get out today so arrived at Ogden at 1545 hrs just in time for a reet good soaking in a torrential down pour which luckily moved over quick leaving brighter skies.
Back to passerine alley with target bird Yellow Browed Warbler in mind closely followed by Brambling.
Most of yesterdays birds had moved on with only 2 Goldcrest showing but the area was alive with Chaffinch though very mobile flitting around in the tops of the Alders.
A scan through these soon revealed a single Brambling, then another , then several others with around 12 present amidst the 30 + Chaffinch.
4 Bullfinch along with 2 Willow Warblers were in with the flock whilst 35 Canadas were on the water.
Unfortunately all the Bramblings stayed at the top of the trees making decent photos impossible in those conditions of light.
Yet another stonking day at Ogden .
Dense fog this a.m. and heavy drizzle putting the mockers on the vis mig.
