Old Guy Rd

This Skylark found the muck heap a good place for preening
Fly catching, you can see the flies around it

And even time for a bit of singing
                                      The full picture

A shoot on to CKs this evening to embarrassingly pay my month overdue B.O.G annual membership, sorry Shaun, then a stop off at Old Guy Rd on the way back to check for Whinchat in the previous years area but without luck.
Plenty Meadow Pipits carrying food with around 25 counted and 8 Skylarks, the one shown singing its head off stood on the top of the muck pile.
All Wheatears seemed to have left the area now although cricket practice was taking place on the pitch which is the area they seem to favour.
Two Lapwings were holding territory and a Curlew was heading >N in the distance up the Causeway Foot Col.
By the time I,d got back and walked the dogs the fog was rolling in along with heavy rain, at least it will top up the Raggalds Flood which is nearly dry now and just held 1 Lapwing this evening.
