Spring signs at Raggalds Flood and a mega for Shibden Park

Lapwings pairing nicely at the flood

                                                 Mallards moving over
East over Shipley Glen to Menwith Hill

Sun on the early warning golf balls

Raggalds Flood found a pair of Lapwings at lunchtime looking very spring like, possibly last years pair which if they stay they should attract other waders down.
2 Mallard flew over high and >S and 3 Meadow Pipits were in the area.
A text message this pm to me reported a possible Kittiwake by the lake in Shibden Park and after I put it out on the grapevine via DJS it was soon re located and confirmed as a Kittiwake but either an ill bird or just exhausted although it was able to flap its wings so may just be resting up.
Many thanks to Michael Nield for reporting an excellent record for the area.
