Starlings in the rain

No shortage of Starlings in Queensbury
A disasterous day with rain from start to finish. The rain varied between steady, heavy and torrential and the times I was out walking it was always torrential!
The only birds that didnt seem to mind was massive flocks of Starlings around at mid day but unsure as to whether these are new birds in or flocking birds ready to move out.
My first continental Robin of the season was in the garden this morning but moved on by lunchtime. This was a very slim timid bird with a pale orange breast. Oats Royd is usually the best place locally to get these and in previous years Ive had up to 20 in the gulf area.
A report via DJS today of 150 Pink Footed Geese over Bradford at 0930hrs tells us that they dont mind moving in bad conditions, hopefully there will be good numbers reported over the weekend.
Hope you,re all blessed with plenty birds this weekend and the weather is a bit more workable.
