The Breeding Season

As from now until the end of the breeding season birds of a sensitive nature will be omitted from this blog due to a small percentage of undesirables who take their pleasure from egg collecting, nest destroying and the killing and trapping of birds.
Reports of non breeding birds moving through the area will still be published. BS

Vis in the air

Plenty Mistle Thrush about this morning

A wet start to the morning but this soon cleared by 0745hrs leaving clear bright skies with a certain amount of cloud.
Meadow Pipits were coming over in good style along with a few Chaffinch and a small group of Skylarks all powering south.
Mistle Thrushes were everywhere down Chapel Lane and in the grounds of the Willows medical centre slowly making their way west along with my first real moving Starlings of the season all high and directly west with an amount of urgency.
By mid day all was quiet and the large flocks of Starlings moving around the Rowan berries seemed to have moved on. Still trigger happy with the camera in my pocket waiting for that flock of Pinkies over my head but so far it has,nt happened. maybe I,ll have to make do with a few hundred Redwing or Fieldfare instead.
