NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

Queensbury Today

These 2 characters appear opposite the garage every day
to sit on the warm chimney vents.
Chapel Lane, early morn.
Whiteout, Foxhill Park

Again a bright clear day but no thaw and lower temperatures than yesterday. Inside the garage read minus 4 degrees when I opened up and minus 1 when I closed at tea time, even the water in the kettle had froze.
At least we,re on the right side of the shortest day now and we,ll soon be starting again with those annual tick lists and wondering where we went wrong with the ones missing off last years. My bogey bird over the last few years has been Redstart which I use to pick up regular even at Ogden but lately they all seem to have gone. Strangely Ive had more Black Redstarts recently than commons. Anyway, apart from the absentees we can,t grumble at the many special birds that have shown up in this small area over 2010. A list will be put up on the blog at the end of the year showing special sightings.
All quiet in the skies today apart from the usual feeders, I was hoping for the passage of Whoopers to continue today but it didnt happen.
