                                                      reflections

                                                         female Wheatear
                                                    1 of several Kestrels

                                              Noisy Raven

Way too hot at Fly Flatts this a.m. with no breeze at all and wall to wall sunshine.
Midges and Ladybirds were a real nuisance with swarms of both throughout the watch which was cut short due to this and the weather.
At least 4 Common Sandpipers and 5 Redshank were present along with 1 Snipe, 1pr Wheatear plus the usuals.
With local Cuckoo reports coming in I walked down Slaughter Gap on the way home in hopes of Cuckoo and Ring Ouzel but neither materialized with just 4 Wheatear and 5 Golden Plover amongst a mass of Jackdaws and Lapwings.
