Fly Flatts late afternoon. Too hot to handle.

1500 hrs at Fly Flatts in terrible conditions being nearly the worst for birding up there next to fog.
                                                   100% blue sky  with very hazy visibility at 23 degrees and dead calm.
                                                                     The whole area had come to a standstill with nothing on the move and all the local birds sleeping around the fringes of the water. The only good point was that with no noise from the wind and water I could hear a distant Cuckoo calling down the valley towards Castle Carr which could have even been the Luddenden Dean bird as sound travels a good distance over the moor.
                                    A total of 7 Wheatear were found by scanning the surrounding walls whilst 4 Common Sandpiper were present along with 3 Redshank. With no chance of photos in the heat haze and empty skies I up stumps and had an early tea.
                                   Not looking good for tomorrow with full sun, unless you,re on the beach at Blackpool, although the wind is slightly stronger from late morning, south turning south west.
