Fly Flatts, p.m.

Late afternoon at Fly Flatts in 20 degrees, full sun and blue skies  on a light E>3.
As expected in the conditions birds were reluctant to move either lazing on the water, in the fields or on the shoreline.
The mass of big gulls were still present but moved >NE mid watch . The 5 Redshank were on the west bank cobbles along with 3 Common Sandpipers but very distant now that I can,t access that area and no chance of distant photos with a strong heat shimmer.
A Snipe flushed from the reeds soon to drop back down again and a little group of 8 Linnet twittered over the track.
A few birders out today with a hectic grapevine this morning with 12 texts received to forward meaning I sent out 624 messages today, not all seperate of course but in 4 seperate blocks.
Watch for an early Swift anytime now in this warm weather.
