Redwing day

Very quiet this a.m. over Queensbury until the drizzle cleared just before midday which seemed to open a window for Redwings to move.
Several small flocks of 10 to 20 birds came over mainly moving >E and >SE towards brighter skies avoiding the grim looking grey skies to the west.
Most of the birds were very high with just a small percentage low down skimming the roof tops.
This evening after dark several contact calls could be heard over Foxhill, these seeming to be heading south.
Hopefully these are the forerunners ahead of the big push.
