Watch out, Wigeon about. Leeshaw reservoir.

                                    2 Wigeon at last

A record count of 33 Oystercatchers

                                    Wigeon, both drakes

                                    Most Curlew dispersed now
                                Busy fields

A very wet start at Leeshaw with torrential rain but fortunately clearing by 0845 hrs to leave full cloud on a cool W>4 at 2 degrees.
At last the long awaited Wigeon showed up with 2 cracking drakes, possibly brought down with the early morning rain and hard to pick up at this time of year with most of my records being the back end of the year. A good count of 33 Oystercatchers this morning which is just 2 below my record count of 35 over previous years.
Otherwise it was down to the usual species with 9 Curlew present along with 8 Herring gull and around 50 small gull. The fields were still full of Canadas and Greylags plus large numbers of Lapwing.
