Fly Flatts, everything comes to he who waits, mega target bird.

                                           A good day for Dunlin

                                            Swifts piling >SE throughout

                                             Bonus bird, ad breeding Turnstone

                                                2 of 3 Ringed Plover

                                                      2 Curlew chicks

A cold NE>3 at Fly Flatts this morning but clear with broken cloud and some sunshine at 7 degrees.
The morning looked ideal with some east in the wind which usually brings something in to Fly Flatts and this morning was no exception. Terns were the expected feature ,which did,nt happen, although a Black Headed gull fast and low over the water made me look twice.
A good count of  Dunlin to start the morning off as well as the usual Common Sandpipers, Ringed Plovers, Redshanks etc as well as 4 Wheatear and 2 Curlew chicks by the side of the track.
A walk on the west bank provided me with a target bird I,ve been looking daily for but not had this species for 2 years so well pleased to find an adult breeding Turnstone on the cobbles which was unfortunately soon moved on by a Ringed Plover. The bird called and headed off high >SE.
