A vis mig morning and wall to wall Wheatears.Fly Flatts,(permit only)

An unusual visitor to the moor. Grey Squirrel.
Seemed quite content on the Robin Rock.
                               A good count of Wheatear

A brief visit from a Greylag then off >W
  • A decent morning once the drizzle had moved over with a moderate WSW>4 increasing to strong W>5   with good visibility and a nice grey sky making it easier to pick the birds up. Cool with a temp of 10 degrees.
  • Mipits, Alba Wags and Swallows moving plus my first group of Siskin over the water whilst Wheatears were plenty with birds on the north shore and below the west bank.
  • Only 3 gulls present in the morning and down to 1 in the afternoon but raptors seemed to like the wind. A single Greylag goose dropped in from the east settling on the water briefly before heading off high and >W.
