More fog patches for Fly Flatts. ( no public access).

                                                   2 of 6 Teal

                                           1 of 8 Wheatear ( autumn plumage)

A poor start to the morning with a low cloud base and fog patches coming up out of the valley but clearing by 0930 hrs leaving bright skies and good visibility on a W>4.
Meadow Pipits piled through from the start all keeping low below the cloud base, drying up around 0915 hrs. Only a small count of Swallows >S with some bounce backs heading >N.
A good move of Corvids which is unusual for up there and 5 Skylarks over.
The Tufted ducks have all moved on now and been replaced with 6 Teal on the water and at least 8 Wheatear along the east cobbles feeding on maggots from a dead sheep.
Not a wader present all September as of yet making it look like this area is more a Spring stopping off point rather than an autumn but there,s still time yet, although the majority of species , such as Green Sandpiper, will have gone through by now.
