End of springtime at Fly Flatts, back to Ogden

                Herring gull getting bombarded

Adult Herring in full summer plumage.

5 Canadas back on the water
                  Plenty active Goldcrests showing.

Spring was nice at Fly Flatts yesterday while it lasted but today it was back to thick fog and heavy drizzle so a drop down to Ogden where the morning was pleasant until 1 hour into the watch when the wind increased W>5 and the drizzle piled in.
The water held 2 Herring gulls and a pair of Goosander, the latter soon moving off towards Mixenden. Otherwise it was down to small gulls and Mallards with 5 Canada geese present.
The Alders were quiet with just Great  and Blue Tits and several mobile Goldcrests with no sign of the Goldfinch/ Redpoll flock.
A Great Spotted Woodpecker appeared briefly in the lodge house trees but disappeared just as quick.
