Well and truly grounded

The afternoon started off well with 5 Blackbirds, 2 Song Thrush and 4 Redwings on the Rowens in Sainsburys car park Halifax in light rain at 2 degrees but as we climbed the hill to Queensbury the temperature dropped to 1 then 0 degrees with heavy rain and thick fog looking across to Fly Flatts.
As we entered the village it was like entering a glacier with cars entombed in ice and people hanging onto walls trying to walk on the pavements. At home everything was shot ice making it treacherous just getting from the car to the house although it was amusing to watch the 3 little dogs trying to stand up in the garden with their legs sliding all over the place.
So that was me grounded for the rest of the day , not even being able to walk the dogs so I was stuck in the house pacing up and down like a caged bear.
The temperature has to rise back up to 6 degrees through the night with gale force SW> 8 winds which should deal with the fog and ice leaving a decent morning tomorrow which hopefully will see me back at Fly Flatts depending on the road conditions up there.
