A good start to the morning as I left home with a count of 83 Common Gulls in Foxhill Park and 3 Greylags over >SW on what looked like a decent autumnal morning at first light.
That was until I arrived at Fly Flatts at 0800 hrs with drizzle and a low cloud base but still giving visibility over the water.
By the time I,d got geared up the rain came down and thick fog shut the area down so back in the car and reluctantly headed lower down for Ogden with Mixenden being out of the running with having the dogs with me.
0815 hrs at Ogden where it was wet and murky but clear although even at this time the car park was near full with cars piling in . If I had,nt have had the dogs with me I,d have turned round and come home but they needed a walk so I bit the bullet and set off for the promenade.
Nothing on the water other than a few small gulls and the usual Mallards and all quiet in the sluice gate area so a quick walk up the Withins track and out of there quick with cars still piling in and chaos in the car park
A few grapevine reports of Pinkies on the move this morning but no chance of any up here on the tops with the low cloud back again.
