Unusual to get an early Greylag at Fly Flatts
Canadas up to 11
Canada and Greylag, east banking.
Lapwings settling on east banking
15 Lapwing present.
With the grapevine livening up this morning with several skeins of Pink Footed Geese reported I thought today was the big blast off day but this fizzled out by lunch time and when I arrived at Fly Flatts at 1500 hrs there were no skeins to be found even though conditions were good . The sudden stop was possibly due to the change in wind direction from a S>4 this morning to a stronger W>5 this afternoon but if the weather allows tomorrow we could have a move on.,
Birds are returning daily now to Fly Flatts with Canada geese up to 11 with the unusual sight of a Greylag goose on the east banking that has come in since yesterday afternoon. Lapwings are settling in on the east shoreline with 15 present all on the peninsular with the Mallards.
Up to 8 Meadow Pipits are now present along with a single male Stonechat whilst distant fly overs included 1 Peregrine, 1 Raven and 1 Buzzard.
