Ned Hill track watch point
Common gulls on Old Guy Rd cricket pitch
34 in an total
1 of 6 Pied Wags, same location.
A horrible hot day today slowing down vis mig movement.
A stop off at Fly Flatts late pm after a run out with Lynda gave her chance to get some sun and me chance to stare into nothingness through the bins. Even Lynda asked the question, " Why are there no birds here ?". I,d no answer for that. 2 Canada geese, 4 BH gulls and 3 Mallard was the height of it with empty skies.
Early evening and a 1 hour watch over the Causeway Foot col found a bit of movement with Swallows funneling through along with a few Mipits but otherwise nothing in the now cloudy, misty skies.
A check on Old Guy Rd on the way home produced 34 Common gulls and 6 Pied Wagtails on the cricket pitch along with 2 Wheatears in the distance.
Roper Lane watch point was un workable in the hazy skies to the west.
Just 3 Cormorants >NE, probably the Ogden birds heading to roost.
