Having given you a break from the blog yesterday courtesy Virgin Media for losing all internet connections I,m back on air.
Luckily last night was, as tonight, another trip to Ogden with nothing out of the ordinary but this evening saw a slight improvement with gull numbers rising but still waiting for the first Common Scoter.
Present, gull wise, were 9 LBB, 17 BHG and 3 Common, otherwise it was just down to the usual sp.
Driving home past the Raggalds a tight knit flock of fast flying birds caught my eye thinking at first they were racing pigeons but as they turned I could see they were Golden Plover. With cars everywhere and no chance of anchoring on I just saw them over the Pit Lane football pitch as if to land but training was going on so they veered off either towards the usual Bonnet fields or Soil Hill with a count of 18.
Apart from waders on the move Wheatears seem to be starting to trickle through with an adult and juv at Fly Flatts yesterday NCD, and 2 juvs and an adult at Soil Hill today JL, see Bradshaw Johns blog for pics.
