Amazing view to the east from the top of the Dailies
Down the Dailie fields to the old railway station
Wool etc used to be winched up from the station on
a track and taken to the mill.
With talk of Buzzards moving through and an early Osprey sighting over Bolton Abbey I thought I,d better take a quick look over the Aire Valley bird highway from the top of the Dailie fields.
Unfortunately no raptor movement for me but several LBB gulls >N up the valley and a good sized flock of Fieldfare in the distance over Baildon also heading >N on their way home.
The station is now void of Redwings which have moved off leaving the resident Blackbirds to finish off the few remaining berries.
A call from NK this afternoon alerting me that Snow Buntings are moving through with a few sightings, the nearest being Pendle Hill, so Soil Hill will have to get a coat of looking at over the weekend. Wheatears are also entering the country on the south coast.
Its all happening now!!!
