Still Hunting the Bunting Ringby Top

                       3 Seperate Sparrowhawks about
In the quarry, perfect Bunt habitat

                Busy airline skies
                         Top field in good form
                               More Sparrowhawks

                          Sun going down later now
Sparrowhawks drifting across valley and over Mixenden res

Determined to dig out another Snow Bunting a trip to Ringby Top seemed in order late p.m.
A stonking afternoon with clear blue skies and icy WNW>5 although fog could be seen low down around the horizon which crept in after dark.
Although conditions were excellent on the top there was very little signs of bird life other than the 100 or so Corvids and about 20 Magpie, along with 2 Meadow Pipits, these being the only small passerines up there.
Sparrowhawks were interesting with 3 around throughout circling the top then drifting across over Mixenden reservoir before coming back and doing the same again always very high.
Again expected Pinkies but a 360 deg sky watch found nothing but small gulls and a few LBBs.
At least I can,t complain about the weather today for a change, see you tomorrow.
