Sun up Fly Flatts
Some things money can,t buy.
One of the lucky Red Grouse, safe till August.
Eck, whats this, Redshank in January
2nd surprise at Fly Flatts this year
You,ll not see Fly Flatts like this often
Plenty Kestrels about.
A beautiful morning at Fly Flatts with a slight WNW>2 on the top road but dead calm at the water. Very icy conditions at minus 3 deg making an amazing sunrise.
Plenty Kestrels and Red Grouse about but the water was quiet apart from 3 LBBs and a few small gulls + a good count of 52 Mallard.
A real wakener when I got a Redshank call near the boathouse and the re located it on the west bank before it flew back to the boathouse area again. Thats a December Greenshank , few years ago, and a January Redshank I,ve had at Fly.
Expected Pinkies in the perfect conditions but all reports were to the south of me.
No sign of Snow Bunt.
