These Redwing pics from last month
A horrendous day with a strong S>6 -7 and heavy showers of horizontal rain, hail, sleet and snow.
Early afternoon was the best part of day with some sunshine and an ease in the wind only to come back with a vengeance after dark .
All quiet up Foxhill midday apart from the usual sp. but as I was returning to work after lunch Redwings were again piling over for the second day running with around 150 >S.
This mystery move was soon solved when Roy Morris came in to the garage to report that he had just been down Queensbury Station where the masses of Hawthorn berries had been completely stripped leaving the bushes bare. He said large numbers of Redwing had previously been down there so the move I saw was the station Redwings moving on in search of a new supply of berries. Thanks for the welcome report Roy.
