Plenty Starlings around the village at the moment.
Bombers moon this evening.
A milder day turning icy after dark and the wind increasing NW>5. A full moon showing in a cloudless starry sky.
Shelf Moor fields were very quiet at lunch time with 1 Lapwing present and the usual mob of Starlings. A Heron flew from Shibden and landed in the juncus field whilst 26 small gulls were in the car boot field.
As I was leaving the stable lad was walking across the trailer field to see to the horses so I waited to see what he flushed hoping for Goldies or Snipe but all that came up was 7 Meadow Pipits, 2 Skylarks and 2 Pied Wagtails.
Back to the weekend again with 2 weeks to the winter solstice,( shortest day ).
Nice to meet Sue and Bradshaw John at the garage today.
