Plenty water in till early summer
A quick dinner time dash to the flood today was disappointing with the water almost drained away again and no sign of bird life.
The farmer dug out and re drained the southern end this summer and it looks like his work was successful for as soon as it fills up it drains away again. Hard to believe now the waders and wildfowl weve had on there in the past. Hopefully it will block over the winter allowing it to fill again.
Another of those quiet grey days with little of note other than around 100 Fieldfare over Sandbeds, Queensbury mid morning as I was returning from a hospital appointment with Lynda but these will have been bounce back birds and not new birds coming in.
Also at lunch time a few Fieldfare were dropping into fields below Pit Lane.
Hopefully this stir up of weather from the west will move things around a bit for the weekend.
