Berries, Blackbirds and Sparrowhawk.

Up to 6 Blackbirds in the Chapel Lane
          graveyard today

And this is what they were after,
              bright yellow Holly  berries.
                                           Rose Hips
Some evergreen left in the graveyard
The local Sparrowhawk flew over the car park today
These two were a recent Ogden bird

An horrendous morning with thick fog and heavy rain continuing until just after dinner but not before it had given me a good lunch time soaking. By mid afternoon it had transformed into sunshine and blue skies.
A check on the Chapel Lane graveyard at lunchtime found at least 6 Blackbirds in a Holly bush full of yellow berries which will hopefully tempt some winter thrushes shortly.
3 Wrens, 2 Robins and 2 Dunnocks were also present.
Foxhill park held 23 Common gulls with several lined up on the goalpost but the rain was coming down so heavy at this point the camera stayed in the bag.
Late afternoon saw the local Sparrowhawk skim low over the car park hotly pursued by 5 Starling.
I wonder what surprises the weekend has in store.
