Fog, Fieldfare and gulls

Fog creeping in on the walk home from work
                                          Chapel Lane top.
Plenty Common Gulls in Foxhill park

A grey day with a bit of fog morning and evening, some heavy rain showers and a touch of sunshine but not so much of the latter.
Common gulls were out in force with 77 counted in Foxhill at first light and 29 still remaining at lunch time.
Unusual for a LBB gull to be on the top pitch which left >W as soon as I appeared.
A few small flocks of Fieldfare came over the garage around 0750hrs all from the old station area where they had probably been roosting in the Hawthorns.
Plenty Jackdaws and Starlings new into the village just now with flocks of near 100 Starlings moving around.
A report today from Foxhill school saying a Woodcock was being spotted regular around Harp Lane and even up in the kiddies play area. This is probably the same bird seen by HC a few weeks back.

Had an old farmer in today moaning how much brass he,d spent on his Land Rover recently and he reminded me of the old Yorkshire saying,
                Ear all,see all, say nowt,
Eat all, sup all, pay nowt
And if ever tha does owt for nowt,
            Allus do it for thissen.
