Wheatears for Old Guy Road.

Wheatears now in full autumn plumage

                                More Common gulls returning
This BH gull already has its winter red legs

After 2 weeks of checking the Old Guy Rd cricket pitch before work for returning Wheatear I finally hit the jackpot this morning with 6 on the pitch and more in the distance along the wall tops. Hopefully these birds will hang around a while and increase in numbers.
The pitch also held 6 juv Pied Wagtails + 2m and 1f  as well as 2 Skylark, 3 Common gull and 4 BH gull.
The usual 50+ flock of Starling were present but very mobile.

Thanks to DP for calling in the garage today with the new Crossley id Guide showing a picture of a Common Scoter in flight with white underwing during moult. Looks like another for the bookshelf, thanks for that Dave.
