Whoopers for Ogden

8 Whoopers on Ogden in dense fog

Managed a bright enough setting to cut through the fog
but lost the bill colour from yellow to orange

As they were on a natural setting

Sat in Leeds hospital reading about the killer smog, strange, its just normal Queensbury pea souper to me, when a text from Bradshaw John reporting 8 yellow billed swans on Ogden in dense fog conditions.
Tried to get them to turn up the radiation machine but they wouldnt so text DJS who kindly checked them out as Whoopers. Well done to John for getting out in the conditions that rareties are found in and quickly getting the word out.
After a dash along the M62 home I was stood at the side of Ogden at 1800hrs trying to find a camera setting to get through the fog to the amazing sight of the Whoopers. The birds were very noisy wanting to be on their way but would,nt leave in the conditions.
Strangely last year I was in the exact same spot taking pics of 6 Whoopers in just the same foggy conditions 18/03/2013.
Well done again John, see Johns blog for a good report.
