Redshanks for the Raggalds Flood

                                     Return of the Redshanks

Luckily the resident Lapwing does,nt seem to mind.

After a day of torrential showers and a cold WSW>5 I thought a visit to Raggalds Flood worthwhile after tea in the hopes of something being dropped out of the sky, the target birds being Redshank, Ringed Plover and Teal .
A nice surprise when I arrived to see 2 Redshank contentedly feeding on the waters edge with the usually aggressive Lapwing ignoring them.
I knew the shanks were in the area after a report from Bradshaw John of them being there briefly last week so hopefully now they will stay around like last year.
Also present were a pair of Mallard and 6 Linnets on the wire fence.
