Another Bank Holiday weather disaster. Not too bad at Queensbury with slight drizzle at 0645hrs but the further west I got the worse the weather got.
Fly Flatts was a no go with dense fog and heavy drizzle blown over the moor on a W>5 so it was on to Leeshaw where it was clear with heavy rain developing into low cloud and heavy drizzle as the morning went on. Breaks of sunshine came through but the drizzle continued throughout.
Merlins were the birds of the morning with one female across the front of the car at Withins Gap and a cracking male low across the reservoir banking at Leeshaw.
Swallow were over the water in big numbers and a good passage of Black Headed gulls >N kept me alert for Terns.
