Wheatears Galore, Fly Flatts

                                          Several young birds

                                   Shaking off the rain

                                 Nice autumn plumage

Fly Flatts   1530- 1730hrs  Brisk SE>4  Heavy rain showers.

Visited Fly Flatts late p.m. to get some Nyger seed down and see if the rain was bringing more Terns through but this was not the case.
Met another hardy birder up there with the same idea, Denise, who had just been on the top road doing a Wheatear count for the second time today. Denise is really dedicated to local birding as well as photography and is a real asset to the Queensbury area, well done for putting in the time Denise.
Whilst Denise went back on the top road I walked down to the feeding station counting 11 Wheatear between there and the rocks on the moor plus 3 on the top road where I looked before I left and 9 in the field opposite the Windfarm carpark. All the birds were typical early autumn birds being very flighty and camera shy.
Otherwise Fly Flatts was quiet with nothing in the air.
