Swalesmoor / Shelf Moor

A day of continuous rain ranging from heavy to very heavy  but at least the wind has dropped. Hoping for improvements for tomorrow but not looking good to press.
Noticed a lot of finch movement at the Queensbury end of Swalesmoor on the way home from town this p.m. so called on quickly to check it out on my way visiting at Shelf Moor. The flock was very mobile using the row of Hawthorns by the old Lodge house and moving up into the trees on the main road by the kennels.
These were mainly Chaffinch numbering about 30 with smaller numbers of Goldfinch, Greenfinch and Blue Tits. No Brambling were found but  I didnt have very long to suss them out.
Shelf Moor had a few Fieldfare and Redwings in the fields with about 20 Lapwings flying round but otherwise quiet and the pond being deserted.
