Gales hit Queensbury

A bright red sunrise in stormy skies
Torrential overnight rain leaving a day of storm force winds W>7-8 gusting 9 and heavy rain showers although for Ferbruary in Queensbury this is nobbut a stiff breeze. Usually the February gales up here take the slates off rooftops and garden fences litter the roads. A couple of years back the remains of a greenhouse ended up in Foxhill park and going back a few more years static caravans from the mountain site ended up in Roper Lane.
Luckily so far the ivy has stayed on the wall but it must be a bit drafty in there for the sparrows with the full force of the wind and rain against it. It was a matter of dodge the wheelie bins as I walked to work this morning but other than that no damage seems to have been done.
These conditions must have moved the birds around a bit with already talk of a Diver over Calderdale, problem being that if as forecast the wind continues over the weekend its going to be back into the working week before things settle down.
BS.
