Goldeneye
Dipper
Dipper, double image
A bright clear morning with wall to wall sunshine.
The skies over Ogden and to the west were deadly quiet although DCB was reporting mega numbers of Woodpigeons and Fieldfare to the east.
Not many woodland birds about other that Robins, Wrens and Dunnocks but got a bonus with firstly a Kingfisher over the water and crippling views of Dipper by the new pond, neither bird has been seen by me since the beginning of the year.
2 Male Goldeneye and a female were on the water but by the end of the visit one male had gone.
Nice to bump into Denise who was taking photos of the Goldeneyes being mobbed with gulls at the time. I made the mistake of showing her where the Dipper was so she could get some photos so you,d better look at mine quick as I dread to think how good hers are going to be.
I also told her the vis mig was about over and she laughed and said that was an excuse because I,d had nothing. Minutes later DCB rang reporting over 10,000 woodpigs to the east of him, oh well, guess you was right Denise.
