Geese and Swans, Fly Flatts a.m./ Ogden p.m.

                                    A dark sunrise, Queensbury

OGDEN
                                    Very few Herring and LBB

                                    Squabbling on the east bank

The argument was over a vape.

A foggy start at Fly Flatts which soon lifted leaving low cloud with patches of blue but difficult visibility with large scud clouds moving through fast. A light WSW>4 at 8 degrees.
This would have been an excellent morning if it had not been for the clouds moving through and blanking off several sightings.
The highlights were a small group of Whooper Swan, in the mist, over the turbines before disappearing into the dense clag before the camera could get a focus on them. Another special sighting, apart from a skein of Pinks to the south of me >SE, was a group of 21 Long Tailed Tits heading >SW as I was passing the Withins on my way home. This coincides with a sighting yesterday at Mixenden reservoir NK.
Woodpigeons were moving in force low over the western ridge but a serious undercount due to the hanging fog in that area. Very little species present but enough skyward to keep the interest going.
A check of Cold Edge Dams and Mixenden on the way home to make sure the Whoopers had'nt come down on the water and then a quick combined afternoon dog walk at Ogden which also drew a blank.
Quite a few gulls present but spread all around the edges and problems with sun glare from the east bank.
A part cloudy morning tomorrow with a light SW.
