Fly Flatts a.m. Foxhill Park Common gulls p.m.

Fly Flatts                        Distant Stonechat

Black skies to the west heading my way
FOXHILL PARK                15 Common gulls present.

Terrible conditions at Fly Flatts this morning with the first sleet showers of the autumn at 5 degrees. Heavy showers throughout on a moderate to strong W>6 with shutdown at 0930 hrs when the sky turned jet black with torrential rain and nil visibility.
Unsurprisingly very few birds with just a few blogging Meadow Pipits, 1 Reed Bunting, 1 Stonechat and the ever present Dipper. Several Swallows >S on the way home as I dropped down into Wainstalls.
An afternoon dog walk in Foxhill Park produced more birds than I had seen during the morning with
15 Common gull, 9 Black Headed gull, 2 Pied Wagtail, 3 Meadow Pipits and a Willow Warbler in the hedge.
Looking better for morning with some sunshine on a light NW but still down at 5 degrees. Maybe a goose day if the skies are clear.
