Wader numbers slowly increasing, Fly Flatts. (permit only)

Min count of 12 Common Sandpipers

                                    Raven over the quarry.

A bright morning at Fly Flatts after yesterday evenings thunderstorm and torrential rain. Luckily the storm was short lived and so far has'nt done any damage to the water level. A SSW>3 at 10 degrees with 60% cloud and some sunshine.
Plenty waders around today with the addition of another 3 Dunlin leaving 4 now present but, as with most of the waders today, they are sticking to the peninsular area.
A minimum count of 12 Common Sandpipers as well as 7 Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plover and 5 Redshank plus the usual Curlew, and Lapwing.
A Sparrowhawk skimmed over the Flat Moor, much to the annoyance of the Lapwings, whilst a Raven was being mobbed by crows over the quarry area. Three LBB gulls were on the north bank.
Not looking good for morning with a moderate SSE along with rain and poor visibility.
