Leeshaw Reservoir

                                    6 Redshank present
Oystercatchers not yet dispersed for breeding.

Fileys Atlantic 85 being recovered after launch last night.

One of these mornings I'm going to awake and be able to see the bottom of the garden, but not today.
Another session at Leeshaw on a very dark and wet morning with a mix of rain and drizzle throughout and fog on the tops. Visibility was reasonable, but not camera friendly, with light mist on a E>2 at 4 degrees.
All the usual species this morning but all very quiet seeming disillusioned with the weather and once again all pretty stagnant with very few flying. A pair of Goosander were on the water along with 6 LBB and a single Common gull whilst 6 Redshank were probing the fields.
A very low cloud base so no fly overs other than noisy Curlews and Lapwings squabbling over territory. Very poor on small passerines with just a few Meadow Pipits around though this is not a renown site for Wheatear and Ring Ouzel.
This is a very good site for April Cuckoo which usually appear during the last week of this month.
A text this p.m. from BV reporting a drake Common Scoter on nearby Lower Laithe reservoir, Thanks Brian.
Possible, a morning of no fog tomorrow but rain and a gale force sou'westerly  so Fly Flatts could still be unworkable.
