A real mixed bag of weather at Leeshaw this morning with a continuous near gale force W>6 gusting 7
at a biting cold 1 degree. Some very heavy showers of sleet and snow but passing through quickly in the strong wind leaving periods of sunshine.
A hive of activity throughout the watch but similar results to yesterdays list plus a few less Oystercatchers and 1 less Redshank plus the arrival of 2 Pink Footed Geese.
Several careful checks through the numerous waders with hopes of a Black Tailed Godwit but so far MC seems to be hogging them all around his area.
Again, several gulls moving through, mainly LBB and Herring with a small count of Common and Black Headed. Once again, these were all checked through but hope is now rapidly fading for a Med, Caspian or Iceland after an extremely poor winter gull period.
A bit brighter and milder for the morning but still a strong SW decreasing by midday.
