The light SE>3 did its usual stunt this morning bringing dense fog onto the tops and lasting most of the day. Leeshaw was clear and mild at 5 degrees with constant light rain turning heavy by 0930 hrs.
Plenty activity throughout the watch although nothing out of the ordinary. Several of the Curlew and Oystercatchers have now dispersed with the usual flock of Curlew missing from their usual field and Oyks down to 23.
A pair of Moorhen are now present along with 5 Redshank, whilst 8 Herring and 17 LBB were on and around the water but only 2 Black Headed and 5 Common gull. A Pied and a Grey Wagtail were feeding along the cobbled bank but otherwise down to the usual species.
A bit drier tomorrow, which apart from keeping the camera and bins dry, doesn't really make any difference, but a light easterly will no doubt bring in another day of fog.
A quick scan through the RNLI lifeboat launches, live webcams, mid afternoon found Filey 'D' class ILB 'The Rotarian' on a shout to a casualty below the cliffs by Filey Brigg.
