                                Returned for 3rd year.

A dry and clear, but bitterly cold morning at Ogden with an icy E>3 at 1 degree with 80% cloud.
Plenty activity in the waterside trees though the Redpoll flock had split up with around 20 in the Alders but very mobile whilst a small group of 8 Siskin were present.
The Tit flock was working its way along the waters edge along with a few Bullfinch.
The water was quiet with around a dozen small gulls and the usual female Goosander and Mallards whilst the Kingfisher was in its usual slot.
A completely different sort of birding for me mid afternoon after a call from a Wibsey lady stating that there was an unusually high number of Tufted duck arrived on the lake .
On arrival I was surprised with the number of species present and my intended quick visit with the dogs lasted nearly 2 hours.
A minimum count of 58 Tufted were on and around the water with possibly quite a few more on the island. The annual winter visiting Shoveler was again present for the third year whilst around 100 Black Headed gulls were present, all checked for a Med. I,m not a park birder but an enjoyable and bird filled 2 hour visit.
Same NE wind for tomorrow but slightly milder with odd showers.
