Oh no, not again. Fog, Fly Flatts.

                                  Early morn
                                    Little vision
                                    Water viewing area
                                    Along the east bank

Looking across to the lagoon trees
                                High water on the slip-way
                                    Waterside seats.

A real grizzly morning at Fly Flatts today with a strong SW>5 gusting 6 at 14 degrees with torrential rain turning to continuous horizontal drizzle and thick fog banks moving through from the west.
I knew I was in for a rough ride but expected the wind and rain to clear the fog but Fly Flatts had other ideas so the fog stayed. Some of my previous best October birds have come through in these weather conditions, such as, Caspian gull, Kittiwake and several grounded Ring Ouzels, but with the added fog today, no such luck.
Just a few grounded Meadow Pipits as well as the usual group of  6 hardy Stonechat.
The weekends heatwave has now been aborted showing tomorrow as cloudy with a moderate SW then W . Hopefully the fog will stay away after nearly 2 weeks of foggy mornings up there.
