An atrocious start to the morning with thick fog and heavy rain on a W>2 at 10 degrees. Luckily the rain cleared the fog, partially, giving visibility across the water but every time the rain eased the fog returned.
Having said that, it was a much better morning for migrants in the bushes, obviously brought down overnight, with 3 Song Thrush and 2 Mistle Thrush plus a Ring Ouzel, or the same bird that I,ve been seeing, but the Ouzel whipped out of the Hawthorn bush and dropped down into the reed field, not to be re-located.
Up to 12 Reed Bunting were in or around the bushes along with several Mipits, the latter heading off >S as soon as the fog began to clear.
Otherwise it was down to the usual Stonechats moving around the entrance track fencing plus a few Canadas on the water. Several big gulls were on the north bank but never enough clearance for me to scope them.
