Good Friday bash, Fly Flatts.

                                New arrivals, 4 Wheatear

                                    1 of 3 Redshank
                                    1 of 4 Oystercatcher

                                Male Ringed Plover
New arrival, 1st winter Ringed Plover.

A bright clear blue sky and full sun this morning with a light N>2 at 6 degrees.
A nice morning to be out on the moor but the clear sky and light wind did nothing for the birds with plenty on the deck but nothing moving.
A new arrival of 4 Wheatear, all males, were on the west bank, but as usual,in spring, very flighty, being much less timid when returning in autumn.
The 2 pair of Ringed Plover were near together with a newly arrived 1st winter , non breeder, probably being one of last years young, bred at this site.
The usual 4 Oystercatchers and 3 Redshank were present with Dunlin and Common Sandpiper due within a weeks time.
Several Heron were on the moor after frogs and spawn whilst a single Skylark was up singing.
Otherwise it was down to the usual Greylags, Canadas, Lapwings and Curlews along with a good count of Meadow Pipits.
Theres a smell of fog in the air for morning with a light east wind and cloud.
