Fly Flatts, p.m. visit.

                                      4 Wheatear on the shore
                                                 1 of 7 Stonechat
                                                         Well into the moult

5 Herring gulls on the peninsular.
Male and female Peregrines on the north shore

                                                   2 Whinchats present.

2 of 4 Ringed Plover on the far shore.

A early afternoon quick dash to Fly Flatts with a S>3 and clear sunny skies at 19 degrees after a night of thunderstorms and torrential rain.
Just the same 3 juv and 1 adult Ringed Plovers on the south shore but nothing on the northern mud due to, not only 1, but 2 Peregrines sat some distance apart on the banking looking like they were working as a team on their victims. Not much chance of decent waders at this site whilst these 2 are around and to make it worse a falconer was working a Peregrine on the Flat Moor.
A small group of 5 Herring gulls were on the peninsular but all yesterdays wildfowl had left the water.
Passerines saved the visit with 7 Stonechat, 2 Whinchat and 4 Wheatear but all very flighty and keeping at distance, especially the Whinchats.
